Effective coverage width
Distinguish finished roll width from net installed coverage after side laps, upstands, trimming and local reinforcement. Quote and order on the agreed basis.
Roll length and handling
Long rolls reduce transverse joints but increase weight, lifting constraints and damage risk. Balance seam reduction with crew capability, roof access and safe distribution.
Winding direction and face
Confirm which face is installed outward, print orientation, unwind direction and whether the roll schedule needs mirrored or directional units.

Large-area roof roll-planning questions
How should roll width be selected for a large exhibition roof?
Use the approved roof geometry, net coverage after laps, handling capability, wind exposure, lifting access and repeating bay dimensions. The widest manufacturable roll is not automatically the most economical if it creates difficult handling, excessive trimming or unsuitable pallet units.
Can the total roof area be used as the order quantity?
Not by itself. Separate roof fields, perimeters, upstands, openings, valleys, gutters, movement joints, temporary stops and agreed waste. Convert each zone into manufactured roll dimensions and state whether the quotation is based on gross supplied area or estimated net installed coverage.
